Various methods of transportation exist in Hytale. This includes travelling across the land, through the sky, and underwater.

Walking[]
The player can walk across the terrain using the W, A, S, and D keys by default, moving forward, left, back, and right, respectively. This method is not very fast, and so other means of transportation may be used once the player has enough resources.
Rails[]
Players can lay down railway tracks to form a network wherein minecarts may be used to traverse long and commonly used paths. Minecarts are able to jump across small gaps when they gather enough momentum to do so.
Riding animals[]
The player can mount certain domesticated animals such as rams and ride them. They may sometimes need a saddle to do so.
Hot air balloons[]

The player can craft hot air balloons which allow them to travel quickly through the air, avoiding many hazards or treacherous terrain found below.
